Position Purpose:
Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. 

Portions and assembles resident meal trays and nourishments to provide nutritional support in a clean and sanitary manner.

Description of Duties:

Planned working time percentages are approximate and can change on a daily basis due to operational needs.

• Stores food and supplies in resident dining areas (such as refrigeration and storage closets).
• Portions foods in advance of meals for tray assembly.
• Prepares nourishments for resident’s evening snack and between meal snacks.
• Assembles supplies and supplements for distribution. Performs basic unskilled food preparation tasks by opening cans, preparing sandwiches, and other simple food preparation tasks.

• Prepares tray line for tray assembly by turning on necessary equipment. Sets up tray line with required food, trays, dishes, portioning utensils and tray tags. Assembles meals on trays by serving foods indicated on the menus and residents tray tag.

• Ensures that resident receives food serve under clean, sanitary and safe conditions. Cleans and sanitizes pots, pans, dishes, flatware, serving utensils, refrigerators, food carts, work surfaces, serving areas, and other related food service areas and equipment in order to meet established standards of cleanliness and sanitation.

• Disposes of trash, garbage and soiled linen in appropriate receptacles.
• Transports tray trucks, food, nourishments, special functions and other supplies to and from the dietary building.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
