Position Purpose:
Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. 

The employee assigned to this position performs a variety of tasks including portioning and assembling foods, calling diet orders for tray assembly, transporting food carts to individual’s areas, daily cleaning of dishes, trays pots and pans, equipment and work area, receiving and issuing food and supplies to insure the individuals of the correct servings of food at the appropriate time and in a clean surrounding.
***Works 8 days on 4 days off - works 7 days on 2 days off.


Description of Duties:
Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

Serves food by following the daily menu in order to insure proper nutrition from the diet as ordered by the physician.

Prepares simplified food items and beverages by reviewing the menu and instructions in order that the daily diet requirements are met.

Washes dishes, thermo trays, pots and pans by hand or dish machine in order to clean and sanitize them.

Cleans and sanitizes the work area by using the recommended cleaning products and procedures in order to meet the cleaning standards and to prevent infections and contamination.

Operates equipment by following the instructions in order to accomplish the work.

Receives Dietary supplies by checking, dating and storing them in a systematic order in designated areas so that items are available.

Performs related duties by doing any task that needs completed in order to insure a safe and efficient work place.

Locks and unlocks assigned area using keys in order to insure security.

All duties are performed in accordance with institution rules, regulations and procedures and to maintain required standards. Duties will vary in accordance with need.
Works overtime as assigned.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions

 1. Prepare simplified foods.
 2. Move hot/cold pans of food to areas. / Place food servings/items on trays
 3. Wash/sanitize dishes by hand/machine. Clean and sanitize work areas and equipment
 4. Load, move, and unload food carts.
 5. Work in cold/warm/hot temperatures
 6. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Requires ability to hear in a loud environment.
 7. Communicate effectively and maintain effective working relationships.

 9. Follow dress code and utilize required personal protective equipment.
